DOWNLOAD # Asura Quintet – Live At Futura, L.A. (5-13-2012)

18 05 2012

FUTURA is a night created by Daddy Kev with residents Teebs & Asura (aka Ryan York)
FUTURA is an all ages monthly arts experience at Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock.
FUTURA aims to give a home to Los Angeles’ brightest and most forward thinking musical and visual minds in experimental art. More than an over flow of creativity from Low End Theory,
FUTURA is an outlet for the ambient electronics and forward-thinking orchestral forays of the Los Angeles music scene.

First FUTURA was in October 2010, since that incredible talents performed there: Jeremiah Jae, Jonti, Mndsgn, Knxwledge, Ahnnu, Sonnymoon, Mia Doi Todd, Baths,
Daddy Kev, Matthewdavid, Rebekah Raff, Austin Peralta, Daedelus, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson Quartet, Gaby Fernandez, Shlohmo or Flying Lotus.

I always wanted to go there, maybe more than going to LowEnd but til now i had no chance to take a plane.
So here’s my, your, our chance to be a lil part of this experience by listening and downloading Asura Quintet performance from last week.

All improv. Recorded live at “Futura” at the Eagle Rock Center for the Arts. May 13, 2012.

Asura – Bass
Ana Caravelle – Omnichord, vocals
JK Mohr – Drums
Carson McWhirter – Guitar, space echo
RareBit – Picollo Guitar

If you dig the sound, i REALLY advice you to grab Ryan York last material on Leaving Records, a EP called Zipperlegs.
It’s an absolute master-piece (to me) and if you missed it, im sure u’ll fall in love for it. Check this video by Miko Revereza first and grab a free MP3 from the EP.
