Kicking off 2011 in fine style, Worldwide Family is a new series from Brownswood Recordings that will see label head Gilles Peterson hand over compiling duties to trusted friends of the label in our perpetual pursuit of the perfect beat. And who better to launch this new venture into orbit than two of our closest cohorts: Lefto and Simbad. Both gents are globetrotting DJs, respected selectors (with web-like worldwide connections) and the two are firm friends. What’s more, they have repped Brownswood from the beginning. 27 tracks deep, ‘Worldwide Family Vol.1’ sets the bar sky high for future instalments. Reaching out to their respective global networks, Lefto and Simbad have each compiled a stellar selection of exclusive jams that sum up their individual and inimitable styles.

A Special Report today cause it’s been 1 month i wanted to do it, and also
those releases are or will be stuck in my player/playlist for a very long time.
It’s been a while since i posted about the second very acclaimed Robot Koch album: Songs for Trees and Cyborgs. Since this, Project Mooncircle didnt sleepon this success. And i should say, they’re nightworkers.
4 New Albums have been & will be published till the end of January…And all of this is well chosen. Always on Time
Right after Robot Koch’s, the label publised this very very nice and eclectic concept album called The Moon Comes Closer. This concept comes with a story you can read below and it comes with a certain kick ass List of Artists, all can see the Moon from anywhere they are on Earth…Ya Heard, a landscape of producers, mapping the world from Germany to Los Angeles, from Tokyo to East Europe, Project Mooncircle is definately one of THE label who offers the most innovating grroooves from the whole planet
Robot Koch, fLako, Pavel Dovgal, I.D. 4 Windz, John Robinson, Lambent, Nienvox, Juj, Mr Cooper, MyOwn, Long Arm, Daisuke Tanabe, Graciela Maria, Scienz Of Life, Andy Kayes, Abnormal, Capella, Comfort Fit, Kan Sano, Gards From KC, Puzzle, Sense of The Q4, Sotu The Traveller, V. Raeter, Himuro Yoshiteru, Skyence, Dexter, Portformat, 40 Winks, Dela, Brazzaville & Killing Skills
This is a story about a young Russian girl named Jinna Morocha who had a vision of one day flying to the Moon.
Many years ago during the hard times of life in Moscow, the young girl saw the Moon consciously for the first time and at that very moment the dream began. These vivid thoughts remained in her mind and she started to ask herself “How can I get to the Moon?“. Soon she found the label Project: Mooncircle over the internet and told them her story, at once she saw a chance to come a few steps closer to her dream. By now Jinna lived in Germany and it was possible for her and the label to meet, her key question was “Can you bring me to the Moon?“. The answer was a faltering “No, but maybe we can let you fly to the Moon in your mind. Let’s build the soundtrack to this vision, close your eyes, clear your thoughts and let us begin on your journey“. That was the beginning of “The Moon Comes Closer“
I would love to shout out my fav choons from this, but i strictly can’t do that…A Lot of GREAT mizik inside & many producers i ❤ so much…

from the upcoming first album by Pavel Dovgal. I was so surprised at the first step when i get the promo in the mailbox. I was like Hey Yo Pavel on P.M.??? What?? Albuuum?? Hell Yeah!!!
After the first 3 choons i was already in love for this spaceships synths & cracky soundscapes…And about sure that the rest of the album willbe that solid. no EP no 12″ just a very good first album.
This album is a mix between different sides of the concept of “Cassiopeia”. It’s about life, the universe, humans and the future. Cassiopeia includes musical approaches comparable to Prefuse 73, Robot Koch and Kryptic Minds. The record is predominantly Hip Hop, but features tracks with other artists that are not strictly part of this genre such as BekBekson, Verhovski and Fancy Mike. Pavel’s music is a trip into a fable and his medium is the music of different genres: Hip Hop, Dubstep, Glitch, Wonky and Downbeat, used to form pictures. His work is free spirited and there are hints of feelings, allusions, enigma and mystery. We won’t get into the inner workings of his music, how it finds its way into the hearts and souls of the audience, the important thing is that it serves its purpose. Tracks such as “LA” or “Andromeda” are very personal statements from Pavel, “Quant Magic” is composed using Overtone, Didgeridoo, Boomerang, Yedaki and other Australian instruments. “Sacred Chants Of Shiva” seizes the listener with a sensation of restlessness.
Pavel Dovgal’s “Cassiopeia”, the incision between intergalactic music and the human soul. The same formula that has been present for over a thousand years.
Opening the album with a deep 60’s soul voice loop, dubbed with a beautiful bassline & drums, harps sounds, is exactly what you need before the next 9 tracks (13 including Bonus & Comfort remix) The rest is between FlyLo crispy backgrounds, and reminds me a lot of Robot Koch or Low Limit Synths. This isnt a Put Ya Hands Up record, its more a brain party on wax. I didnt say i wont play it in a party, i just say it will certainly blast people’s mind if this one is enough open. The 2nd tune for exemple called Girango, is fitting good into any good mix, the beginning is growing up as u need and the drop bring you to another drop Up & Up, with that international Clap surrounded by gentle bleeps. Girango comes with some other in the same vein, Deep & HardKnocks: Quant Magic, Salzburg or LA with Fancy Mike Some other cooler tunes comes to break those Soldier Long Walks beats, tunes like Lyra Bird, Parade Your Planet (certainly one of my fav’ with Andromeda & his hypnotic atmos) or post handmades recordings with Blue Phoenix I could easily describes you all the songs but as Project Mooncircle has more stuuffs to come i will keep some space for the forthcoming ones…
And its HUGE ONES
Hell Yeah…I will cop that 12″ just for that kick ass cover…Will fit with my Cosmic Intoxication 12″ on da wall. Anyway, it’s not to say that Cosmic is shit, no, i bought this shit, but i think Mini Tollbooth EP by fLAKO will just bring madness to the crowd. And if they don’t scream i will slam on dem…When i received THAT news, i was super happy. RRRReally happy.
Finally, new fLAKO’s stuffs and yeah, no bullshits righ’here.
Pure fLAKO !!
So, first thing you have to do now before keep on reading this special article is to DOWNLOAD the latest MondayJazz mix called
LaBurrita, it’s a mix by fLAKO and it’s full of…Latin Music !!
Read him and thanks to the peoooples at Monday Jazz
“I guess this Selection for the Mondayjazz Crew shows one a many musical genres that i grew up with and still surround and inspire me. Cumbia is the music that always makes me smile. Its funny, very honest, raw and you can dance to it. Cumbia is a Latin American musical style that originated in Colombia’s Caribbean region. Traditional Cumbia and its associated dance is considered to be representative of Colombia. It began as a courtship dance originated from the Caribbean coast of eastern Colombia, with folkloric variants in Panama from where it spread gaining particular popularity in Mexico, Argentina, and the Andean region. I can only imagine how strange this music might sound to people that never heard it before. Get familiar.”
I don’t know if you’re listening, but i am, and La Burrita is like Take Five for jazz or The 5th by Beethov…An unlimitless Classic . I don’t speak spanish & have family in Bogota (Colombia), everything can happen… I’m quite open minded (very in fact) so listenning to this reminds so many things. Big UP to Generation Bass by the way…Anyway, let’s go back to fLAKO and Project Mooncircle collab. It’s Huge EP i can’t wait
Let’s check comments: “Supa dope ! , Shocking! Shaking! Burnin’! Breakin!! , /ugh!!!! , Yesss! Damn man , beat is illll ”

The Mini Tollbooth will drop on December 17th, you can pre order it at HHV or your usual dealer
‘Mini Tollbooth’ is inspired by a novel called Phantom Tollbooth. The film adaptation from 1961 is so beautiful. I like to get lost in these childish worlds of freedom, where everything is possible. This modern fairy tale is about a young boy named Milo who is bored by the world around him. He feels everything is a waste of time. He comes home from school one day to find in his bedroom an anonymous package containing a miniature tollbooth and a map of the Lands Beyond. He takes the map, drives through in his toy car, and instantly finds himself driving on a road to Expectations. Enjoying the ride, he pays no attention to his route and soon becomes lost in the Doldrums, a colorless place where thinking and laughing are not allowed. He is having plenty more adventures like watching Chroma the Great conduct his orchestra in playing the colors of the sunset or meeting The Awful Dynne, a genie who collects noises for Dr. Dischord. – fLako
And the great news for the end, as i discover it now. Graciela Maria who’s featured on the album The Moon Comes Closer (with the lovely tune Underwater) & with her actual works with Robot Koch announced an Album.
You probably downloaded their collab i posted here. Producer Robot Koch teamed up with friend and fellow musician Sneaky (Fingathing / Ninja Tune) to create this organic and retro futuristic sounding album, that incorporates Double Bass, Live Drums, Cello and other String instruments and well as a subtle touch of cutting edge electronic production which Robot Koch is know for. The track “Many Places” features a string arrangement by Fiora Cutler.

For you mid-week enjoyment,VTech and Plug Research Music bring you L.A. based producer Exile’s incredible remix of Bilal’s “Think it Over,” delving deeper into Bilal’s forte of bittersweet blues tunes. The track, co-written by Hezekiah, fondly recounts longing for a love lost – realizing that space is sometimes needed for time to work its healing magic.
Exile manages to update the track’s original throw-back feel (produced by 88-Keys) with added kick-drums, chants, haunting echoes, and resonating basslines, while still capturing the overall essence of the first version. This remix is a perfect example of the exceptional work that we’ve become accustomed to from Exile. Download, press play, close your eyes, and commence to reminiscing.

So here’s the brand new shit to be release in 2weeks on Project Squared
Promo available almost everywhere from Chemical to Redeyes
The fourth release on the Project Squared label marks our first year in existence. Asusu, the artist who graced the first Project Squared 12” a year ago, returns with “No Kya”, a 144bpm track of introspective, impeccable sound design, a tightly controlled swung beat reminiscent of Garage and a deep bass line. The track follows in the vein of Asusu’s previous 12” releases on Project Squared and Immerse Records, whilst pushing his sound into a new, more sedate area.
The B side features a remix of “No Kya” by F, a producer who has created a strong reputation for himself in just 2 years of releasing music on 7even Recordings. He has worked with Headhunter, has remixed Jus Wan and has been remixed by Ramadanman and Untold. His album “Energy Distortion” is one of the highlights of 2010 so far.
F remixes “No Kya” into a 140bpm club tune. The drums switch between 4/4 and swung patterns, accompanied by rattling percussion and huge sub bass. Dance floor tested with success by Skratch at Sub:stance, Berghain, this track finishes off a superbly balanced release that caters both for intense headphone listening and the peak time dance floor.
Youhou !!! One of my fav’ producer all time // Been support from Flying Lotus to Low Limit,
from Madlib to Gaslamp Killer….DON’T SLEEP
